    Fox rear fuel lines

Got back to working on my fox t-bird. Dropped the gas tank last night to inspect the rear floor pans, check the tank condition and generally nose around. Turns out the metal fuel lines that run from the fuel filter (just ahead of the right rear tires) and back to the tank are in pretty rough shape...badly rusted and broke the end off of one while removing the nylon line. I'd like to replace these lines with direct fit pieces to keep it relatively stock and to just make it easier...but I can't find these lines anywhere for a T-bird.

I was wondering if the fox Mustang lines run in the same orientation as the T-bird and if they may work as a replacement if available....the mustangs do have a much larger aftermarket than the 'birds but many parts cross over. From the tank, the lines have nylon sections that go up to the hard lines above the rear axle then run together to the fuel filter. One line has a molded nylon end that goes to the filter while the other has a push fit nylon line that goes forward under the car.

    Sound familiar??

I can tell you my turbo coupe is not the same as a v8 or 4 cylinder fox. I remember seeing the fuel filter was in a weird location

Weird location?? Please elaborate. Guess I should have added that my t-bird is a 5.0L (HO/T5 swap done).

To follow up.....just looked on LRS....found them but HOLY CRAP they are pricey!! Does anyone offer these that won't cost me a nut (or both)?? Or maybe have a parts car around that would have these lines on them?

    Thanks.

the fuel filter is like over by the passenger side torque box in my TC I think. the fuel filter in all my fox mustangs was right in front of the tank about dead center

Is there some type of oddball flare on the lines? If not, just take off the original line, buy some new tubing and use the old line as a template for bending the new line.

That being said, if Lou's lines fit without a lot of tweaking that seems like a good deal. Time is money.

If I could replicate the end of the lines I can easily make new ones. But, it was late and I did not look closely at them so I'm not sure what style flare they have to know if I can make them. I'm used to working with braded and push loc lines so thie stock stuff is new to me.

From some internet browsing the mustang nylon/plastic hose ends look like the t-bird ends...they slide over a flare in the line then plastic hose has a clip with two legs that slides through the hose ends to trap the metal flare from pulling out.
