    t56 problems

    whats up guys im not sure if i have a gate problem or if its my shifter when im at the strip i shift at 6700rpm every here and there it will give me a problem going in to third. i have no problem shifting the car on the street at high rpm and never miss it only seems like it misses third when its over 90 degrees out side once in a while it will miss second. what do you guys think should i start looking for a new transmission or just beat the hell out of it till its goes then put a mach 1 auto transmission in it. i race this car more then i dive it on the street

    which t-56 is it? out of a 03/04 cobra? viper spec?

    could be synchro..

    I would have bought 2 transmissions already...... I would get a CVT that way you dont have to worry about shifting!

    Why don't you just have someone go through it for a refresh/ checkup.

    i might have some one just go through it like you said gerbenitz and the transmission is a 98 cobra transmission.

    then its not a t-56. its a T-45

    T-45's are known for synchro issues. I have read that GM (yes scott, I said GM) lol Synchromesh tranny fluid does help to an extent. I guess... auto is a good choice for strip, I cannot bring myself to do an auto swap in my cobra, Ill be going with an Rockland Standard Gear built T-56 Magnum but really dont have plans to be at the strip every week. To each their own lol!

    Third is always pain to shift hard in the t-45's. I'd bet it's just the way the trans. is plus mabey some driver error. Doesn't your car have low miles?

    Fork pad inserts are probably gone and a blocker ring or two is probably worn.
