ok which are preferred? i know not to use a mechanical fuel psi gauge inside the car....but other than that id there anything wrong with say oil,water,tranny mechanical gauges inside? any reason one is better than the other?

you can say your better than the "joneses" with full electical. They may be just a tad faster reacting, but there is no problem with mechanical
I run mechanical oil psi and water temp inside the car. Mechanical are accurate.

Honestly, if you use good quality (Auto Meter, Stewart Warner) either is fine and very accurate.. I personally would go with electric mainly because of ease of installation and versatility..
