    351 exhaust setup

hi guys i recently bought this exhaust off of another member on here turns out it wont work on my 302. The collector on the passenger side points directly at the bell housing right where the starter bolts up and doesn't let the down tube come up and bolt to the collector. I tied to modify the flange on the collector by grinding up down and it still didn't let it fit right. Did he same on the drivers side. to make a long story short this is for a 351 w setup and is in great shape it comes with

    1. shorty headers

    2. down tubes

    3. x pipe

    4. flowmasetrs/tail pipes

all 3in from collector back not sure of the brand or size of the primary's

asking 225.00 i paid 200..00 for it but just had new o2 bungs welded in to the down tubes last week so thats why im asking 225.00 thanks

I wish you had told me that it would not work before you altered it. I would have taken it back. Vince

Its ok Vince not you're fault the only thing I altered was the flange that the bolts go through to bolt up the down tubes there so thick it shouldn't hurt anything but I might have someone buying them that has a Windsor so it should work out

Yeah I know but I recently found out that the 351 block is a little wider and a little taller thus causing the collector to be point inward more instead of outward like a 302 it really sucks cause this exhaust is in really good shape and I was looking forward to putting it on but ill take it as a lesson learned

Sooo, are you 100% certain this is for a 351?

Rob, I was the one who sold this exhaust to geps91stang. It came out of my 88 fox hatch with a 351W with Ford Motor Sports SVO Alum. heads and a c-4. I put a new 351W in my drag fox and used Kooks long tube headers, thats why they were sold They are in excellent shape. Vince

i hate to keep posting in my own thread but earlier i tried putting on my stock headers and then bolted on the down tubes they fit perfect so i bolted on the x pipe and mufflers and they bolted on perfect so it looks like all i need is a set of 5.0 shorty headers and i should be ok i'll just need to sell the 351 headers thanks for all the comments
