1991 Yamaha Warrior... Fix or get something new?

I have a 1991 Yamaha Warrior. My parents bought it for me new and I rode it a lot until I got into cars. It has been sitting for 8+yrs since last being ran. When I ran it last it ran fine from what I remember but the clutches were worn. I kind of want to start riding again and I am wondering is it going to be worth stripping, painting, and replacing a lot of parts that I am sure have just aged out or should I just look for something newer that is used but in good condition? I don't know what to do but I'd hate to start fixing this one only to realize that I could have just bought something newer used.

    Get something new....

Warriors are pretty rugged and simple to work on...but they are very dated compared to newer machines.

The raptor 660 I had was twice the quad the warriors were (I've had 2 warriors)...

And the Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS was a nice upgrade over the raptor.

You can't beat the new bikes. The warrior hasn't changed from 1989 to like 05. The new suspensions are far superior. But the warriors are tuff as shit. And because they didn't change em there are parts out the ass for em. You can prolly get it going way cheaper than getting a new one. For a woods beater the warrior is good and cheap to fix, last forever and require way less maintainence. If you wanna be fast go with a newer one. Bu they require more frequent oil changes and valve checks.

I sold off all of my quads, but by far the best one and fastest was the 2008 kfx450r fuel injected. Thing was a beast!

i agree... i've never been a quad guy at all, but MX bikes are usually just a year or two ahead when it comes to engines.... If you dont mind lots of maintenace, a newer one will be 10x the bike..... but, if you just wanna have fun and not worry about the thing, the older bikes would still be fun

Thanks for the responses. I may rebuild the carb and replace the clutches. I will start by bringing it home and tearing into it first before buying anything so I can see what I am getting into. Like I said, it has been sitting or a while. Here's its current state, it saddens me that I let it go like this...
