    Austin-Healey Sprite

Does anyone on here have any knowledge of old collector cars or know of where to search for collector car value/prices? My girlfriends uncle is selling his Austin-Healey Sprite. It's in working condition, all original, fairly low mile (~40,000), original wheels and tires, perfect working condition, has had body work done so it's 95% rust free. He's willing to sell it to me for very cheap and I'm thinking this could be a good investment depending on how collectible it is and current value of the car. I can't seem to find anything on pricing that's too helpful. Does anyone know where car enthusiasts go to research vehicles this old?

We get a LOT of Healey's at the British Car Day show at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix every year. This year's show is Saturday, July 21 - in Schenley Park as always. Come on down and talk to a bunch of Healey owners. If you need some info sooner than that, let me know and I'll try to dig up the name of the British Car Day show captain.

IMO Hemmings is kind of like Barrett Jackson where cars/parts are often overpriced. Hemmings is kind of a thing from the past too from what I see/know because the internet has killed them. It is not the resource as it once was. I think the better bet would be to reach out to an Austin Healy enthusiast or group.... I know they are out there. A few years back I bought an early 60's MG and relly didn't know anything about it made some contacts and got more info than I could have ever used.

Obviously I have never seen the car that your interested in nor do I know what you could buy it for, but just going off of what I have seen/know there is a limited market for such a car and typically don't bring big money. If you are looking at it as a possible investment, I think there are alot of other cars out there that would serve that purpose better... just my .02

I think you'll get a much better feel for the market if you talk to some local owners. You'll also be able to network and find good resources for parts and mechanical services.
