    Dumped exhaust, illegal???

    My Borla Stinger tailpipes are rubbing my new tires. Thinking about buying Mac Pro Dumps. Does anyone know if tailpipes are required to pass inspection or if I will get pulled over driving without them?

    Not sure, but i think if you pass emmisions or drive your car less then 5,000 miles a year you should be o.k. Unless they are loud as hell.

    Technically exhaust has to exit from under the car. Alot of places wont care though.

    This......the exhaust is supposed to exit behind the passenger compartment. This means dumps and even side exhaust is illegal unless it's factory. This is the law down here in WV though, might be different in PA.

    Bro-in-law couldn't get his stang inspected with dumps on it....gave him a lot of flack about it. I hated the constant drone of them under the car when cruising.

    The exhaust is supposed to exit in the factory location or the rear of the vehicle.

    I don't think you'll get yanked for it.

    Dumps = LOUD
    Dumps = DRONE
    Dumps = FUMES IN CAR

    I would imagine dumps on a Cobra would suck.

    From outside the car it sounds great at idle and at WOT. Inside will probably sound insane at WOT and have a mean idle but everything else you will hate. I had dumps on my Fireturd and ended up ditching them and putting the SLP LM2 full exhaust I got with the car back on it.

    I had mac pro dumps on my sn95. Fumes not really an issue. Sound everyone loved how it sounded from the outside.

    From inside.. the radio.. Well no need to turn it on. My wife would speak at lights or between gears. I loved it but it's a little much if you need to be able to talk. It was louder in the car than out.

    Thanks guys. I actually got my Stingers to fit so I'll be keeping them for now. I do miss the Mac sound though.
