    trailer hitch and power break ?

    whats up guys i have a 94 f150 im going to had a trailer hitch to so i can tow my cobra this summer to the track i really dont want to a break controler when i hit the breaks i want the trailer breaks to work. what options do i have for the trailer breaks and sorry for any spelling

    If you don't have a brake controller in your truck the trailer brakes won't work.

    You also need the 7 pin plug (round) on your truck for your trailer brakes to work.

    dam so i other wise i have to spend close to 500 dollars for everything

    Some equipment trailers have surge brakes. Not very common anymore but they are still out there. The coupling/tounge of the trailer slides back when you brake, applying the trailer brakes. No electric brake controler needed. Also, in PA, all trailers over 3000 lbs gross require trailer brakes. Every axle of the trailer needs to have brakes on them too.

    Dude brake controllers are cheap, and my wife could probably wire it in.
