thinking about buying a stroker motor

Whats up guys i was at work today bored and started reading one of the mustangs magazines we have and i came stopped on a page for stroker motors from D.S.S has anyone ever bought one of there racing motors i was looking at the 5.3 stroker 4v motor i was thinking about buying one with a kennybell blower and boosting the hell out of it. I like having big motors and this would be better then craming a 5.4 truck motor in my cobra. let me know what you guys think.

If your going to go with a forced induction set up I would reconsider the stroker set up. We have made well over 1000 rwhp with a true 281 cu inch engine. The stroker set ups for the modular engines do have some issues.

I have done a ton of reading up on this, strokers do have their issues with the 4.6 block. Ford has the Boss 5.0 block out that has many upgrades from the standard block and can be more beneficial for a stroker setup. Is it worth it in the long run? Thats up to you, I dont know if the extra cost justifies the difference in power, especially if your going forced induction. Theres a lot to read out there, just do the homework!

i understand were your coming from but for $4grand you get a fully forged 5.3 stroker i was thinking that was a great deal because that puts me in a place were i dont have to mess up my engine and i can take it back to factory specs if i wanted to sell it.

heres the set ups i was thinking

    for bosted
5.3 stroker ported polished heads KB manmonth blower and ether a six speed or the mach 1 auto trans

    for N/A

5.3 stroker racing port and polish heads and intake short runner mod and stage 5 cams six speed or mach 1 auto trans

im planing on doing more racing with the car then driving on the street so everything could change i was thinking the automatic transmission because Im doing more Dragracing then driving on the street i have a good idea how much this will cost me im not planing on buying everthing at once this most likely will be a 2 year build unless i hit a jackpot at the rivers...... bigayest thing right know is finding someone who will port and polish my heads so far no one wants to work on them and some of the shops that said they would there price was way to high.
