I ran this guy (no idea who it is) twice in time trials, 5.0, AOD car, CAI, supposed to have gears and some minor stuff. His slips were 14.20's at 97-ish.

I think the way more important thing for you your first times out, it to simply set out to have fun. If that is your goal, you wont be disappointed, wont be consumed with "needing" to buy parts, make changes and chase the car. If you go out, take what the car gives you, try to improve your driving, and enjoy racing, hanging out BS'ing you will be a winner. Thats what its about for me, I take what the car will give me, then tweek it to go faster.

I would be betting on low 14's .. I've never ran mine in the 1/4 but the guy I bought it off of said he did a best of 14.0 but didnt give me a speed.. and thats a 5 speed cobra.. I'm wondering if that guy knew how to drive lol. Most of the GT's I've seen with your mods are in the 13.9 to 14.3 range.. but dont worry, just work on your reaction times, and go there to have fun.

My "tired" 87 GT, equal length shorties, aftermarkets catted H, MAC cat-back, K&N drop in, junk shifter, M/T 235/60 Drag radials went a best of 14.40 at Mason Dixon. Shift points where right at 5k. I was happy with that (seeing that I pulled the upper intake off and it looked like a coal stove, with molasses in the oil pan). I am hoping to completely skip 8s in the 8th with the 351 going in.

    THATS ME!!!!

The car was AOD and stock EVERYTHING. I think I had about 10,000 Miles on it. Well, I did have a 5 lug conversion and a set of cobra rims. I don't have any slips but I'm pretty sure that was a 15.2, not a 14.2. It was slow as hell. Now I do have 4.10 in it. A mac H, and dumps. And a K&N panel. It might be a 5 speed the next time I'm at the track as well. We'll see.

Huh, I geuss I got my stockish 5.0's confused ;) I know i ran one with a little bit done to it that ran low 14's. You know how it is, you talk to so many guys at the track, and they start to run together.

How does that 4 cylinder car look from behind running away? lol
