My brother in law had a 86 Cobra back in the 90's with t tops. He bought it in canada specifically because it was a cobra. It was grey and had odd red cobra graphics on the side of it. There was no changes other than the badges as far as I can remember, he just figured it would be worth something because it was a cobra. Last I saw it was rotting in a field at his ex-wifes, so much for that!

In the fall of 1986, Bob Mentzer Ford in Greensburg got 10 of the Canadian GT Cobra's for sale. Ford had a surplus of them and offered them 10 at a time to dealers at a good deal. I test drove a white t-top car ... When I test drove it, it still had the KPH speedometer, but they was replaced with Motorsport 140 mph units before sale. They looked exactly like the GT of the day, except the KPH speedometer, and a little red "cobra" sticker on the spoiler.

One of the 10 (blue one) went out on a test drive, ended up wrapped around a telephone pole, and the transformer that was on the pole went through the T top and was on the passenger seat. Totaled as a brand new car.

At the time a mustang didnt make sence as a daily for me, I was driving to Somerset daily and it would have been my only car ... although man did I want that thing :D
