After a couple shitty 11.9 runs I was able to pull a slip faster than an NA car out of my ass. The Ford Racing tune on the car is insanely conservative.

(it was only 4 runs if you stayed all six hours)To play devils advocate, sometimes people have other obligations and have to plan their day around the scheduled race time. An hour delay for timing lights and nearly two for a clean up might burn up what time you have. I think it was good of them to extend it for a hour, altough they said it was going to be extended to 8 pm the week after we got rained out after two runs opening weekend, but it would be nice to get a decent amount of runs in the scheduled time. I will be the first to say things have improved from 2004 when I first started going there, but it's safe to say Sunday was not a good showing for the track

They were going to extend to 7pm not 8pm. PRP didnt not dump oil on the track a racer did. They did what they could by extending it one hour and they moved it from saturday to Sunday which they didnt have to. Maybe they could only extended it to 6pm because the employees had prior obligation and werent even supposed to be working Sunday.

Here is a comment from Keith from another site. He is PRP's starter and he runs the clean up crew and decides when the track is safe.

We had a couple of things that caused such a lengthy cleanup. First of all it was synthetic oil which is difficult to clean in the first place. Second of all our problem area was concentrated where the track was ground and polished which is very porous and is still sucking up anything that is put on it. There was 225 gallons of cleaning fluid put on that spill and it took every bit of it to get it all up. There was no way we were sending anyone down that track until it was all up. I would not allow anything but a good track. Today I made several calls to not only see what went wrong but to find out what we could do better. We had several suggestions as to what to try next and were even going to run a couple experiments in a secluded area to test these thoughts and thats what they are, thoughts, to see how it turns out. Michael even wants me to call the scrubber company and ask about trading ours in for a bigger faster one. THAT SOUNDS LIKE COMMITMENT TO ME. Did you really think we wanted to be out there for 2 hours cleaning that? No offense meant but I doubt that some other tracks that you have visited would get it as clean as we did before running on it.

It was also stated that they are in contact will Bill Bader from SMP and Jason Miller from MIR from ideas on faster clean ups.

What the f ever. I didn't take a dickish tone in my post, but since it's not PRP's fault that the lights don't work, and it's not PRP's fault that a car oiled down, it's not PRP's fault for anything that happens at the track. Well, it's not my fault their lights don't work, and it's not my fault that the clean up time there has been an embarrasment for years, it does however cost me my hard earned money wasteing hours of the time we all pay for when we go there. fact of the matter is I have paid $60 dollars (not including food) since the beginning of the year to make 5 passes down the track. Thats horseshit. But as always if anyone has an opinion that isn't shooting rainbows up PRP's ass then they are wrong and bitchy and should stay home. It's the only local track and time has proven that people will go because of that fact. They don't go because it's a premium facility. So on and on it will go.

    Thats...

...awesome news to hear Mikey! PRP bein a family operated decent mid size track, they're close to a class A in my book and I would bet that folks that ACTUALLY race there at real events would say the very same! Safety first always, last thing they'd want is someone to wreck badly er die on a pass ya know!? I've been to numerous NHRA events that had similar spills/cleanups that the clean up crew took the same amount of time as they did from the bracket racers right on up to the pros with the best equipment! Like I said before the only real thing I hate is that gravel entrance road. Honestly one other thing I think may help is to have some sort of rain check/compensation if something should happen like track er weather issues etc.!

Cam - no point in arguing ... PRP management will NEVER get customer service. It is what is, and will continue to be. It's not good, it's not bad, it just is. We all have a choice where we spend our money.

On edit - my money will be at MIR this weekend.

I dont care if your blowing rainbows up PRP's, its the comments that I have a different opinion on. If it was stated that the gravel road is terrible, the food is over priced, the timing issued shouldnt have happened. I would have agreed as Im doing now.

So you got 5 runs for $60 in two weekends and PRP sucks. Lets look at it from another point of veiw. PRP opened opening day with the idea it was pretty much going to rain. The reason being is because all the complaints from people like SCS that said they canceled too early because of impending rain. So they open, you knowing the forcast chose to go and got 2 runs the it rained. Ok we will blame that on PRP. The next weekend they opened was a Sunday and they canceled the gamblers race so you could get more runs which they didnt have to do and there was a oil down (which I gave you PRP's explination and that they are trying to improving things) and they did extend it one hour because of the delay. So you left early instead of staying another half hour (which was the time between my last two runs) for what ever reason, but its PRP's fault. OK I get it now.

Now PRP's management does not care about customer service hhmmmm... Lets see, they made changes so customers now get 5-7 runs more times then they get less. The track is prep the same on TNT's as racedays. Someone stated PRP doesnt prep through the day which is wrong, they prep after every round of street cars because they destroy the starting line. They no longer cancel until rain falls from the sky and they have also dried the track on TNT which cost about $800 in kerosene each time. They have fired a lot of the A holes that worked there. They will be opening the front gates on Thursdays TNT's for street cars only so there customers dont have to drive the gravel road. They hired Jamie Tedesco as track manager who has no clue about racing but he does good with customers and service.

So I guess PRP doesnt care about customer service and I just like blowing rainbows up peoples a$$ and dont know any facts.

Opinions are like a$$holes everyone has one. What I see from most of the post on here is everyone is worried about me me me. But I guess thats just the american way.

Opening the front gates for street cars is a new revelation? Couldn't have done that Sunday?

Still remember getting 1 pass in when I almost bit the wall at 80mph on a gear shift, November of 07 when they decided they were going to open and it ended up snowing. I think half the lanes got 2 passes and half got 1 before they called it and said no rainchecks see you next year.

I remember a Tedesco yelling at us in the tower when we went looking for rainchecks, telling us we are the reason why tracks close, bitching about how much it cost them to open that day and a lot of other non nice things. As was said before they have never had customer service skill.

Hopefully things get better before they get worse again for those that will still go out there.

And correct when you are a paying customer, it is all about me me me. If they were a non profit or a free track then sure you take what you get.

Funny thing is, I did state that I thought it was good of them to extend it an hour, and I said it has improved since I've been going there in 2004, however when I simply refered to a different posters complaint and made a point about it, the usual "you not being favorable to PRP" bullshit comes spewing out. **** you, **** PRP. It's the same shit, so anyone that goes there should be prepared for it when it goes south. Is some of it out of their control. Yes. Is some of it in their control. Yes. If you speak of anything that is in thier control, will the nuthugger crowd come in to tell you that your wrong, and a hater, and stay home, blah blah. Yes. So lets end this thread. PRP is the premier facility in the country, they have made every attempt to make it the best racing experience you will ever have, they have the best equipt and trained crew anywhere, and every track should model themselves from them. Thank you and goodnight

So long as they are willing to make improvements in management, cleanup times, run qty...etc. Then I will continue to go back.

I like Mike's responses - someone that is there pretty much every week and knows more about the track operations and employees than the 3 times/yr TNT'ers. Mike gives alot of facts in his responses and usually without the emotion.

However that being said there are still a few very legitimate complaints that need attn asap and "well don't go", "stay home", "quit being a prp hater" are poor responses and the kind that turn ppl to other tracks.

I don't think anyone here is denying that they have made various improvements over the last 2 yrs that are well received, but don't let it stop there.

I've read that $30 for a TNT is what premier tracks around the country charge so:

1.) Get some pavement down or open the old gate for the non-trailered cars there.
2.) Make sure people get 5 runs minimum (weather permitting).
3.) If rain-out 3 runs or less gets 50% off their next TNT.
4.) Improve cleanup times and equipment - there is no excuse for a 2+ hour 10' lg oil down cleanup.

Overall I'm pleased to see things are improving and the customers voices are being heard through channels like Mike (Balaska) and Chuck (Cobra II)...and others.
