    My new home defense piece

Have been in the market for a tactical shotgun for a while now. Wanted something with more punch and intimidation than my handguns for home defense. Picked this up for $415 bucks. Remington 887 Nitro Mag Tactical.

Heres the link. I think itll do the job if need be. Its currently full of Hornady Critical Defense 00 Buck.

Sweet, I've had my eye on the SCAR Heavy. I prefer the .308 over .223. The desert tan looks awesome on them!

I was going to get the 17 but decided against it due to mag price and availability of the mags, not to mention ammo price. Plus I have lots of AR mags and ammo, not sure yet what optics I'm going with so I'll shoot with the irons for now.

Give a call to Yankee Hill Machine and get yourself some supressors if you plan on actually using them for home defense. Your ears will thank you!

John, what's your opinion on the 5.45x39 round it's cheap. I want a FN FAL 7.62x51.

Nothing wrong with the round only problem is that the cheap ammo that's available is surplus corrosive ammo, so you must clean it properly immediately after shooting it or it will damage the barrel, bolt etc. If your fine with that then it's a good alternative to the 5.56 for the simple fact you can shoot more for less.

As for the FN FAL, they are nice guns if you can get your hands on a real one which are quite expensive. I don't care much for the one's built here. If I were looking to get a 7.62x51 I'd spend the cash and get a SCAR17, if you don't want to spend that much then check out some of the AR10's, plenty of options going this route.

Metric is the only way to go on a FAL. I have two that I built myself. I made one as a STG58 and my favorite by far is the Para version with the side folder and 16" hammer forged barrel. I used original Imbel receivers for both. I grab a picture of them to post up.

Don't know much about current FAL's, I know a little about the pre 89 imports which IMO are the best but pricey. I had one years ago that was marked.

That's a nice shotgun Billy! Troy has been eyeing up the same one locally.

Here's my home defense, top to bottom:
-Ruger 10/22 with reflex sight (not really a SDW but fun as hell to shoot and it was already in this picture!)
-Remington tactical 870 with Blackhawk SpecOps GenII recoil reducing stock
-S&W M&P15 with Troy battle sights, PMAG magazines, quad rail, light, quick disconnect scope mount
    -Sig P238 380 (my CC)
-Beretta 40cal Px4 storm with light
-Kel Tec sub2000 40 cal glock model with stock extension, 22round mag, and hogue grip (my favorite gun by far!!!)

I am looking for another Kel Tec sub 2000 in 9mm that uses glock magazines, if anyone knows of any local please let me know.

Here is the full size FAL and the Para shown with a Sig 556 pistol for reference. The supressor fits the FAL and the Sig.

Seems like using the pool table is the thing to do, so I put a few of the goodies on there to snap a picture. Guess i need a few more tables to display all of them though. This is all I could fit.
