    higher rpm = notchier shifting

Anyone else notice this with the latest gen stang? Its like butter when i take it easy but the 2-3 shift is very notchy when I shift about 6k rpm. Other shifts get notchier but that one seems worse than others

I took my '11 back to the dealer for this issue. They swapped out the tranny fluid, and all was good in the hood.

I saw that TSB, but that only mentions when its cold. I'll see if they'll do it.

That TSB covered both my issues; during winter I sometimes couldnt get into 2nd no matter how hard a tried, and high RPM grinding/notchyness.

Cool! Let's hope it helps mine. The other day I couldn't get into 3rd and I had to "just let things settle". Id rather just take it easy and get it done early on then having some go wrong later and have them claim "abuse"

I have to say the service department didn't seem to happy when I mentioned that I already found the TSB online, though.

EDIT - did your high rpm notch issue happen regardless of temperature or only when it was cold?

Update: Went to the dealership for the TSB. Turns out the TSB I had was superceeded by another TSB that explicitly listed build dates for 2012's. Mine was after the cutoff. They went ahead and replaced the fluid anyway.

There is improvement in the shifting in higher RPMs especially on the 2-3 shift. The 1-2 is still notchier at higher RPMs than I like but still improved. Pretty much any gear change at or below 4500 is very smooth and going back and forth between 3 and 4 is almost silky.

I think the shift bracket is going to be a high priorty mod now.
