This just might be the best thread ever.

I recall seeing the twin-paxton Cobra upstairs at Auto Palace. I thought it had been Shelby's, not Cosby's.

A fellow named CJ in Glenshaw has a real 289 Cobra. It's a regular at the PVGP Walnut Street Show. I'm 99% sure he bought this car in pieces from Redman in the early 1980s.

It's currently getting a full restoration.

And there's that guy Bill in Canfield, OH that has the MGM Cobra from the old Elvis Presley movie. Its got so few miles that the 289 is barely broken in!

What time are we meeting at the Zoo? I'll bring shovels!

You'll have to dig deep Pal! that was a valley.

Cj bought CSX-2292 from Joe Rodman back in the late 70s or early 80s the car sat for years kress & Joe tried buying it Cj was smart to hang on he lives a stones throw from Joe. Cj had a set of webers on 2292 that were not jetted correctly and washed the rings after a fresh Jim Evanuik rebuild.

In the 80s ( it think) there was auto cross at the zoo parking lot i have a pic of CJ car doing the drift.

Now...find that photo of CJ drifting at the autocross!! Please!!

I'm going to miss the awesome patina on CJ's 289 Cobra. I hope he continues to drive it once the resto is complete.

Yes, photo of Joe's car and my 271HP was definitely North Park. Here's Elaine, Joe's sister behind the wheel in South Park. A friend of mine- Ron Condle- took these, thinks it was Spring 1970 for Elaine photo.

And PS- That MGM car rolled into Wexford in an enclosed trailer the year before last - 2010 - seconds after I said to CJ that this will probably be the only true original Cobra here.

It's a early car April i think, the car is missing the original engine but everything else is there from the trans back with the proper date codes, the owner has collected most of the engine with date codes in the ball park of the original parts. The car had a 351 C installed & the shock towers were cut to fit the C engine I repaired the shock towers by grafting in new sections on both towers all the original spot welds are untouched I repaired a small of floor by the throttle pedal butt welded and ground flat & a small patch on the driver door.
He's looking for 20K.

I was told the other day Fran sold the GT-40 & going to Japan.

Any chance you heard what the GT40 sold for? I bet is was a pretty HUGE number.
