UMTR at Quaker City Sunday May 27th

The UMTR season opener is next weekend at QCMP, I'm planning to haul out and have a go at it ;) This is Sunday before Memorial Day.

If I ain't got nothing goin on which I don't think I do, I just might bring the Stang out to race it! This was one of the first tracks I was at when I was a reeally young kid aside from Mercer (Sunset) and Youngstown and always wanted to run there! It'd be cool to finally race with the UMTR guyz too! How far is QCMP form the Burgh!??

Don't forget about the flat trailer tire. I had a good time saw alot of nice cars and drove bad. Sucks you broke.

In the scheme of what sucked about yesterday, hurting in the engine was probably #1, but the rest of the things that sucked in random order ...

Staging for 1st time trial and being on the rev limiter for 10 seconds before he pulled us of of the beams ... (no apparent reason)

Dropping the tree the instant we both staged after he pulled us out ...

Not dropping the tree for the second time trial either ... backing us out, then expecting it to drop instantly but instead holding us ...

The heat then the rain ...

Acting as tour guide to shitters that werent open ...

Turnpike tolls ...

Having to stop on the way home to change a trailer tire ...

In spite of all that BS, it was a fun day .... lots of cool rides at a quirky place I like to go once a year ...

A bad day at the track with friends is still better than most things we do :D

Your right about the staging. Being behind you just wondering what was going on. It must have been that silver mustang that shook up the starter.

LOL, My junk is subject to failure at any given moment. When you try to break it every pass, you sometimes win ;) I always have a great time with the UMTR guys, they came through and shook everyones hand and thanked us for coming out. Great guys that appreciate the racers.

You can't buy that kind of entertainment ... I was going to go down to the gate and give them $5 more for the extra show ...

For those that wasnt there ... they had nostalgia funny cars (bodies that look like real cars) .. those guys put on a hell of a show with half track burnouts, dry hops, and back up girls :D ... Well the one wasnt as comfortable in the short skirt and high heels, fell getting over the wall, then when she stood up, her shoes was glued to the track ... She gave up and did a walk of shame outside the wall barefoot ;)

Every time I want to light it on fire (like today) it makes me smile to think about the attention it draws at times. That guy however was close to needing a restraining order.

Sorry to hear about the tuff day Bob. I was gonna go but changed my fog light bulb thursday to find oil underneath on my Stang behind the oil filter. While that ordeal unfolded my closest bestest friend, band mate, neighbor and brother talk't to me for the very last time cause he passed away that very night! Today was the viewing and tomarows the funeral and burial that um paul bearing. I've been a complete mess all weekend! Plus the weather wasn't looking to good! But um lookin to get to race at one for sure this year thou!
