    Pool deck.......

Since I've farmed out the wiring problem with my 'bird it's left me some time to take care of a couple honey'do's. The biggest of which is a pool deck. I actually wanted it done more than the wife but hated the thought of doing it.

After two days of busting tail with a friend helping, here is the results so far.

Thursday we hand dug 13 holes and got the 6x6's set/squared in a quickrete footing. This was a 10 hour day. Then on Friday we got all the framing completed and started laying decking boards. About another ten hour day here also but not nearly as rough as Thursday. I'm decking it with 2x8x16's since I HATE 5/4 decking. This is one sturdy deck!! For some reason all the posts in the above pic look curved.....actually made me run outside and look after I took the pic.

    Here's more progress pics.

It's 15' wide and 27' long. When the pool is gone it could be a nice parking spot!!

    Sunday's progress.............

And the finished pics. It's done!!!! Other than some gingerbread...caps on the posts, etc.......it is basically done!!

Two guys, three and a half days, about 70 hours total labor. Have a bunch of materials to take back before I know how much I have invested.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Very nice, love seeing overbuilt decks and not something that's going to buckle or wobble.

The curved posts in the pic have something to do with how the lens works.

I was going to do composite decking and rails but that would have cost damn near three times are much!! Figured a five gallon pail of Thompsons a year and some time with the roller or pump sprayer was worth the cost difference.

My buddy just did a deck on his house with all the composite stuff, he said it was a boatload of cash but wanted the peace of mind.

Nice! I like how you used those 6X6's for your railing and pergola!
