Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S = Toyota Supra??

Help me settle an argument. I've looked at this new Subaru BRZ because a friend of mine linked me to a video of two drivers nutting over the chance to drive it. When the first image of the car came up my first thought was "its a toyota supra!!"

So what do you think... does the new BRZ look like (or at least take its stying cues from) the Toyota Supra? It is a joint venture with Toyota anyway. My friend thinks itl looks nothing like a supra, but I think the styling is exactly where a supra would be if it had been allowed to evolve.

Ehhhh I can see it kind of. Its a hatch. has a shorter trunk with a longer hood. Thats about all though. And I'm not a fan.

Yep reminds me of the Hyundai Genesis.

The Supra made its name because it was like no other vehicle of its day. Why can't car companies just think outside the box anymore?
