Seer, I am not following you. Was there an issue with the 2011-12s?
I believe that some 2011-12s, when tuned, would lean out in cylinder #8 and cook it. The answer was a slightly less aggressive ( or better engineered ) aftermarket tune.

ford removed the piston oil squirters and added heat treated pistons to the 2013, as well as a new block with revised coolant passages.
