    HELP no start--- sort of

1988 5.0 will only start with a quick shot of starting fluid then it will restart just fine for about two hours then no start unless another shot of starting fluid.
Have replaced fuel pump, pressure regulator, PIP sensor, fuel filter, pump relay, etc.
Have checked for and verified fuel pressure (40 psi), spark, timing, injector pulse (running obviously)

The car is an 88 T-Bird with an 88 Mustang 5.o motor, trans, harness, computer transplant.
Is it possible that the computer was harmed as I was doing the rewiring, repinning etc. as I had some wires crossed during this process??

Any and all help would be appreciated, Thanks Dan

Dan.....is your car a black TC??

Now is your chance to go directly to a MAF set up. Did that to mine after a bad ECM. It runs great!

Yes it is a black TC, how did you know?
What would it take to switch to MAF? I am new to this Ford thing so any help would be great.
By the way I am from Ebensburg so not to far from Armagh.

I saw it at RPM. Then I also know Brian at Ark's and he was telling me about it. Then I saw your address......so I just put the pieces together.

I had badstanglx on here do the maf for me.....he loves wiring and is reasonable. Alao not too far from you in altoona.

I sorta figured you saw it at RMP as that's the only place it's been other than my garage. Brian and his two brothers from ARK'S are great guys and very good friends.

Yeah...great guys. They've done several jobs for me over the years and I've sent a bunch of other jobs their way. Those boys know FAST cars!!! Kinda weird to see two of them wearing blue ovals though. ;)

MAF....all you need to do is add a couple wires to the ECM plug, get the MAF computer, and get the MAF sensor. I have the diagram but hate wiring so I had my buddy do it. Think he said it took him a couple hours.

Oh...BTW...I'm heading out to a cruise and the Cottage tonight in Ebensburg. Probably be in my blue Ranger but a friend might drive the T-bird. Stop over if you can.

Just running smooth. It will need a day or so at ARK's for exhaust, tires and inspection. The end is in sight.
