    Clutch petal feel??

The clutch petal in the t-bird is starting to feel a little "catchy"...like the cable is not sliding smooth in the liner. Is this a break just waiting to happen?? The wife says it's really stiff but I've been driving it enough that a gradual increase in pressure is not noticeable....and I blamed it on the centerforce clutch and pp.

    Ideas?

Check both ends of the cable and see if anything is starting to crack / fray. The cable on my '66 gave me some symptoms back before it broke a few years ago. I was at the strip and I couldn't sit at the line ( clutch in ) without creeping forward. I adjusted it and made it home, but soon after it crapped out. Mine isn't a quadrant-style setup - just a cable adapted to a modified '66 pedal assembly.

Cable looked good at both ends but I put in a new FMS one in this evening.....WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It's like a new car.

Glad to hear you're all fixed up Dan! So when are you taking the Bird to the strip??

Waiting for the weather to cooperate. It went several passes at 14.0 a couple weeks back...later found out I was shifting too late. Since then it has been HOT! So when the temps and humidity are down some I'll go back. Hope to see 13.80's or better....but if it doesn't, I'm still not going to do anything...it's just fun to drive.
