Thumbs up Interesting water cooling article by Garrett

    http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...er_Cooling.pdf

If the link goes dead, search for "water cooling" at http://www.turbobygarrett.com.
Perhaps the most interesting point for me was that the bearing races are only rated to around 300* F!! These races absolutely rely on proper cooling of the center section.
The other interesting point for me was the 20* rotation of the turbo for proper siphoning. It's actually opposite than what I would have expected.

It's not a highly technical article and might not cover everything but still a good read.

In order to get the greatest benefi t from water-cooling, the turbocharger’s center
housing should be rotated around the central axis (the shaft) so that the water ports are at
an angle of approximately 20° from the horizontal.

All the water/oil cooled turbos I have seen are setup in a way that the oil intake and water intake are at a 90* angle from one another in the center housing. That being said, the oil intake is never supposed to be at more than 15* off of plumb. Sooooo how one one obtain both????
