    clutch kit / flywheel choices

Hey everyone im going to be doing a t5 swap to my 91 here in the fall my question is with all the flywheel and clutch kit choices out there what would be best for me. By no means is my car a "race car " and I really don't consider it a daily driver since I only drive it less then 50 miles a week Its basically stock. Bored 030 over under drives, a/c and smog delete, hooker super comp equal lengths, off road x 3in, flowmasters comp cams upgraded valve springs and cam. So im not really pushing a lot of horses im just trying to get some opinions on what to go with. Thanks

Foxbody Mustangs should use a 50 oz imbalance...unless the motor has been changed...most strokers either use a 28 oz or zero imbalalance.

Early 289s & 302s ( from the '60s and '70s ) had a 28oz imbalance. The '85-'95 5.0 Mustangs were a 50oz imbalance. I'm not sure exactly what year between '74 & '84 the change was made. Anyway, you need to have a flywheel and a harmonic balancer with the correct / same imbalance as the motor.

My car still has its original balancer from what im guessing I had a shop rebuild the engine last year. Is there anyway to tell what weighted balancer is on the car already.

The flexplate on the AOD will most likely be the stock 50oz unit, so I'd think you'd need a stock 50oz flywheel. Someone here on SCS should have one lying around.

I was looking at the ford racing cast replacement flywheel 50oz and the clutch kit silvernotch mentioned above I read the about this flywheel and it says works best with a ford racing clutch kit I would think it would work good also with that king cobra type kit
