1976 Lincoln Town Coupe, Birthday Gift

Hey guys, just brought this 1976 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe home. My brother and I went in together and bought it for my dads 60th Birthday. Its in pretty much original state, 1 owner and has sat inside a heated garage for the last 13 years without being run. Needs a very good cleaning and gone over along with some interior work and vinyl top. The gentalman who had it, passed away in 1999 and had previously owned Lincoln dealerships. Comes with the 460ci, C6, Cobra CB and... Cell Phone! haha Very solid body to work with non the less.

Very nice. I would love to have something like that to turn into a drag car. Bet you wouldn't see many of those at the strip. Might have to remove a little bit of weight though.

lol, she weighs out at 5274 lbs and factory specs at 0-60 in 12.7 sec, 1/4 mile in 19.2 sec! Would be very cool to see one done up as a drag.

    Nice gift!!

My Grandpa had a '78 Lincoln Town Coupe back in the day. His was also white with white leather and red dash/trim. It was a gorgeous car - also had the 460. It was a beast on the highway. It'd pass everything but a gas station. When Gramps couldn't drive anymore, he gave the car to my folks, and my Dad drove it for at least 5-6 years. Eventually Dad sold it to an employee who was in need of some cheap transportation. That guy ended up beating the hell out of it. Still - it was a gorgeous car that rode wonderfully on the highway. This one had the finned-style rims - a little like turbines - that were optional on the Town Cars, Town Coupes, and Mk V's. Seeing this car brought back a bunch of great memories.
2014 GT Premium - Sterling Gray Metallic - MT82 - Track Pack - Glass Roof - Recaro seats - Spoiler delete
12.76 @ 114.04 bone stock. Koni yellow coil-overs, BMR watts, LCA and LCA relo brackets, Borla S-type axle back.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

I love cars with a story behind it. I wish id know more about my Fairlane other than it was from barsto, cali. The Lincoln had a lot of sentimental value to the family. It was the first time since 1999 that they even put the car for sale. Will be a little project, but its all there not missing any trim pieces or anything. We will definitely have to see what all we can take off in the engine department for sure!

That looks like a nice solid find. I'm surprised the U-Haul trailer was strong enough for it!

I bet it's not quite as slow as 12.7 to 60 mph. I've had a '78 Marquis with a 460 in it... only weighs 4880 lbs... since I turned 16. It was no rocket, but I think you'd be under 10 seconds if you got most of the cylinders working at once.

The 35 mph kick-down in these is awesome though. They usually had like a 2.75 rear end that would shift from first to second at about 55 mph.

My car originally had an 85 mph speedo and it would bury that in 2nd gear!

Have fun with your whale... it'll turn heads once it's cleaned up.

It is a pretty cool looking car, we will have to get under the hood and see what all we can take off. I told my dad a nice set of 99-04 Bullitt wheels would look good on it!
