They put a speed governor on those things? Why?!

Yeah the motor is in the middle of the cab. I think this one was around 330k brand new (we ordered it new in 2006 but it took two years to build and customize) that price tag is relatively cheap compared to other engines and ladder trucks that can easily go over 1 million. But with fundraisers and government grants, I think the tax payers hardly payed for any of it. And if they did, fire protection is tax money well spent if you ask me.

You guys run MSA SCBA's? If I'm thinking correctly we see your Chief from time to time drop off equipment for repair/service.

Nice engine you guys have there. I am a firefighter over in Munhall VFC # 1. We have a 97 Smeal HME 55' quintessential with a 1250 GPM Waterous pump with a 750 Gallon tank. I will agree that the water does not last long when not attached to a water source. We also have a 2001 Ford F-350 that is used as a Squad and a 1988 E-350 that we just refurbished and put on the road as a firefighter rehab unit. Here is a few pictures...
We have also been MSA for many years and we just ordered 8 new packs to replace the old ones in our engine. We also added a MSA rescue belt to each pack for emergency egress.
I like that engine. I remember seeing your squad everyday when I was going to the fire academy. I forget the name of the kid that was in my class though. Last year we bought a 94 Seagrave Telesqrt with a 55 foot ladder. Its good for some of the small curvy roads that our engine one can't get to.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
