    Corvette fags...chime in

I might be going to look at a C5 Z06 nextweek. It has very low miles and the price seems good. Anything to look out for? Owner claims there were no mods on the car ever, but we all know how that goes...

Any known problem areas with these cars? Just asking b/c the car has low miles, but it is 10 years old.

Look for flat spots on the tires.

yea i don't think there's much to look for on the cars, other than tampering and/or rigging.... the cars are pretty solid... might have some rattles, as the c5s seem to prone to that once they get some miles, buf if its low miles, that might not be a problem...

The LSx platform is pretty reliable as well, so i don't think there's any mechanical issues that you specifically have to look for... I've had 3 LSx's now, and really never had a mechanical issue on a one of them (knock on wood)

The engine will have a slight tick to it and may e some bearing noises from the idlers.

As for the t56 run it through the gears with clutch in and every one you should feel the synchros then it go into gear a very slight pressure if one gear is super super smooth the synchro is bad .... This is usually on high mileage or raced cars

    The run flats suck ass

Turn the lights on inside the car make sure the temp and hvac gauges work.

They are pretty solid cars most prep lens are an easy fix and not. Erg expensive.

yea i forgot to mention about the engine - as noted by steve above, if it sounds like a loud typewriter, that's not necessarily anything to worry about... eventually you get used to it sounding like that...
