    2012 Steelers thread

Denver and Pittsburgh lookin flat. Steelers need to stay with the pass. Nothing like have a top 3 quarterback and top receivers and going with the run.

They cant totally abandon the run byt, i agree, Dwyer definitely doesnt give me confidence if I'm coach Tomlin.

Unfnreal - how the idiot replacement refs can miss a receiver running free - with a defender running behind him getting his white shirt held back by another receiver - is beyond me. Goodell needs to pay the fn refs and get these bums off the field.

Even the real refs make terrible calls, so I havent even noticed a change!

Manning is still awesome! Any true fan of football has to love watching him command an offense. By far my favorite player to watch in all of football. I ontly thought Pittsburgh would get whipped on worse than they did.

The O-line has a lot of growing up to do. The backs got all their yards on their own tonight.

Poor effort on defense. Denver ran and threw effectively on us. Tonight showed how important Ryan Clark and James Harrison are to this team.

Did anyone hear Woodley's name called tonight? Sure was a great impersonation of the Invisible Man...

Still - I'll hand it to Manning. He is a stud. And now he has physical receivers that can run after the catch, unlike when he was in Indy. If Denver stays healthy they'll be tough to beat.

Other teams that impressed me today - Patriots - 49ers - and I can't believe I'm saying it...but...the Skins. This league is wonderfully unpredictable.

We had better be charged up for the Jets next week. Otherwise we could be 0-2 heading to Oakland, where we have always sucked. And after the bye in week 4 the Eagles come to town.

After seeing today's games, our schedule looks much more difficult than I had originally thought.

Its a loss, but one catch the other way and people would have been talking about Manning being rusty. He didn't throw for 5 tds. Not surprised that Pittsburgh was trying to win in the waning minutes though.

I always hated playing against Manning. He just picks a team apart when he is on his game. Denver is going to be scary team for anyone this year. Already had a great defense and now with Manning as QB that offense will do very good. That little mind game stuff going on between Peyton and Troy was great. Troy had him changing the play at least 4 times that one down before the flag came out for delay of game.

Steelers well now. An o-line we all love to hate as normal. Hope they can work the bugs out there. Passing game was weird. Ben was throwing the ball like it was on a string to receiver at times. Running game will suffer so long as o-line is a mess. I thought Dwyer ran strong with something to prove when he got to touch ball. Offense controls ball for almost 21 straight minutes and only gets 3 points all that time. That just isn't going to cut it.

Defense wasn't horrible but could tell they missed Harrison and Clark. Course they still need to help hold a lead better.

Was a loss but it wasn't a horrible loss. They played decent and didn't get their asses handed to them.

I'm flat out disgusted about the game. We had no business losing that game last night.
As soon as we lost Gilbert & Foster from the O-line, there went B.R.'s protection. It was really a shame to go out like that.
I'M STILL FRICKIN' FURIOUS OVER IT.-------Bill

Yeah typical Steeler's football felt like I was watching the Superbowl again.

Offense is on a roll. Well except for that running game. Defense I don't know what to think. First half they own the Raiders and second half they didn't look all there. Score 31 points and still can't win a game....

It's a one man show... They can't be one dimensional or Ben will never make it to mid-season (health-wise). Hopefully Mendenhall can add a spark as those other 4 are useless.

Defensively- Larry Foote is a back-up on any other team. Woodley is non-existent without Harrison... Timmons is awful. That's 164 MILLION for the latter three alone! No pass rush... no secondary... no scheme. I could go on... and on... and on...

Who would have thought that the Steelers would be in third place at week 3? They definitely have a lot of issues to iron out over the next two weeks! Bring on Vick!

This year is nuts so far when you think about it. Patriots are 1-2. We are 1-2. Saints are 0-3. Arizona is 3-0. And right now, Seattle is dominating the Packers and has sacked Aaron Rodgers like 8 times in the FIRST HALF.

    WTF is going on??
