    Carnage

Coming home from work, about 2 miles from home. Accelerating from 30 and $%*&^%$#. Snapped the nose off the crank.
Bought the motor used about 4 years ago and it's been boosted ever since. Guess I can't complain.

Seen it atleast 10 times. Maybe more. This in turn is one reason to go to a cog belt set up. Less tension on the snout.

Gotta decide what I want to do with it. Throw a cheap short block in it, spend the money to have one built, or sell as a roller and sell all my parts. I have a ton of suspension stuff I was getting ready to throw on it.

Really not sure yet if I want to invest the time and money on it any more.

Just throw some JB Weld on that thing it will be fine.

At least you weren't to far from home.

I was home and the car was in the garage within an hour and a half after it happened. I was surprised, thought it was going to be a 3-4 hour cluster****.

A neighbor runs a flatbed tow truck for a living and luckily he wasn't doing anything when I called him.

Sorry to hear about the carnage.

    Doesn't Nasty98 have a 5.0 longblock for sale?

Or maybe find a 351 roller motor and put your boost back to it. This carnage shouldn't happen with a 351 unless you turn it up quite a bit.

Soon the weather will start crapping out and you'll have lots of playtime in the garage.

Nasty98 does have a complete stock motor for sale, but I want to find something with a cam and aluminum heads if I decide to redo it.

The busted motor has GT40 heads, stock cam, and GT40 topend. I'd like to step it up from there rather than throw in a stocker.

Right now I'm in between planning a new build or selling the car and all my parts. Probably best to just let it sit in the garage for a while.
The wife keeps telling me I'm getting too old to keep messing with cars.

Engine size has does not matter with a centrifugal blower. With the belt being sooooooooooooo tight, in time it blows the snout off. I would just grab a crank for $30.00 and throw it back together Frank.

Glad I'm not the only one to trash the crank on a low power n/a car . I think mine was because I put in a new set of pistons and didn't get the rotating assembly rebalanced.
