    Mountain Biking

Anyone into this? Growing up I rode practically everyday and loved it. I did the rails to trails type of stuff with my parents, but also did a fair share of downhill and trail riding on my own. I wrecked pretty bad when I was landing a jump when I was about 14/15 and kind of got away from it for a while. The last few years I got back into riding the local bike trails but have missed the adrenaline rush of mountain biking. I recently just picked up a new mountain bike and am anxious to get back riding.

Just wondering if you guys know of any good trails or areas to start with. It's been about 12-15 years since I did any kind of off-road trail riding so I'm not looking for anything too gnarly or technical to start with, maybe just some simple downhills or trail riding. I've hiked most of the trails at Ohiopyle so I'm familiar with them and have been to Cooper's Rock in W.Va a handful of times.

I think the best thing to do would be to go to your local bike shop, buy a tube or something else you could always use & nicely tell them your story. If they don't want to hear it I think that might be a clue about that shop( or that you're talking to me). Anyway a local shop is going to be a hub of info about places to ride in your area. I've rode Cooper's many times & can tell it's a blast, just don't go too fast until you know the parts that can "bite" you! 7 springs & Hidden valley are also good places as well as a few of the parks near there. Up near me the county parks all have good single track to ride with north park even having stunts to ride. State gamelands are also some good places, I'm thinking Sundays when there's no hunting. Have a good ride.

Holy old thread. I am looking to get more into riding, as I just have been doing rails to trails stuff. Looking at buying a beefer MTB as well which will handle those duties. Up for riding if anyone on here does!

Summer of 2013, I rode a good bit around Ohiopyle and Coopers Rock, WV. Last summer, I hurt my back in April and never did feel well enough to ride rough trails. This year, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things, but my wife and I just had our first child 2 weeks ago so my time might be limited once again.

It's not as hard to pedal as it looks. It's heavy as hell, though. This Fat Bike make me Lean and Mean. :WTF:

Nice bike... I have a friend who swears by the fat tire bikes. I’ve wanted to try one out, but haven’t had the chance yet. Once you get some miles under your belt, you’ll have to give us a little review.

I actually just dusted off my rig the other week and did a quick once over before I start riding again. I haven’t been out since last summer so I need a little seat time before I take on any major rides now.

This bike gonna have an easy life on the GAP trail. Those hardcore days are over... the scars and burning lungs and PAIN. I just couldn't pass the deal up, plus they look cool.
