    dont have much exp. with mustangs but want to learn.what does svo stand for?

    Blkp42e is correct. Ford Racing Performance Products (FRPP) was formerly Ford Racing, and that was formerly Special Vehicle Operations Team (SVO). SVO was also the name given to the specialty mustang made between 1984-1986 that was designed to compete with BMW and the like. It came factory equipped with a turbo'd 2.3L, 5 lug wheels, a different front fascia, side skirts, tail lights, and a host of other things.

    wasnt it also Ford Motorsports before it went to FRPP

    Yes Jared, it was actually ford motorsport and not ford racing before it went to FRPP. I was on the phone while I was typing. DOH!
