So I got a little boned with the storm this week, but wasn't near as bad as it could have been. Garage had about a foot of water and the basement had about four feet. Here's my backyard before we evacuated, and how it is now. we missed the worst of it, but from the watermarks and damage I'd say it rose another one to two feet when it peaked. If it hadn't started snowing up seven springs way and slowed the water level down I would have been major screwed. Here's the garage after the water receded. Lots of mud and filth

Sorry to hear that I'm glad you are recovering. Yes, it could of been way way worse like some of the people from Jersey. I'm sure you'll get it cleaned up.

About five yrs ago a freak storm put 2' of water in our back yard, basement and garage. At the time we were driving from Phoenix to Tucson and couldn't believe it until we started getting pictures. Couple miles down the road in downtown Pittsburgh they didn't get a drop of rain. Got home about 5 days later and it took me over a week to clean the mud out, spray everything off, etc. Still had caked on mud on some stuff. It was a rental house so we had just about all our storage down there. Had a car in the garage that the insurance totaled. It's all small potatoes compared to what some people are going through after this storm. Don't over do it with Clorox, just a lil goes a long way. If you can afford to just throw stuff away, do it some of that mud is just impossible to get rid of. Good luck, hope it all works out.
