Who has one? What brand? Do you like it?
Remodeling our family room and going to do something with the fireplace to make it useful. I've done a little looking around but there are not many dealers around so I'm hoping you fellas can provide some actual user experiences. I'll have to feed it propane since we do not have natural gas. Also plan on going direct vent.

Use a wood burning insert. Have a Regency & it heats the complete home. Once lit i never leave go out until spring. Use about 2 cord of wood.
I have a wood burning furnace that heats the entire house. This was just going to be for taking the chill off if I let the fire go out.

my friend uses pellet stoves in his house and cabin they work nice and you dont have to deal with all the soot and smoke from wood burning. id strongly recommend a pellet heating stove.
