Walmart isn't too bad. That's where I get a lot of my stuff done anymore. My good friend works at a tire place and would do them for me for free, but it's not really worth the hassle since Walmart is right around $10 a tire I think. I reserve that favor for something I need to be handled with care.

I wouldnt let any Walmart touch any of my cars. I let them do an oil change on my car once and they screwed that up.

$20 isn't that bad these days for a complete mount / balance.

    But...

I had a nice guy in Midland ( next to Beaver, right along the river - maybe 20 minutes from the Greater Pgh Airport ) mount the tires on my black '94 Cobra this summer. $10 a piece. He works out of a garage behind his house. He uses a Snap-On balancing machine. His name is Dave Cervone and his email is davecervone@gmail.com Tell him Ron with the black '94 Cobra sent you. Shoot him an email and I'm sure he'll get back to you. He also can get tires for you for a very good price - in most cases, as cheap or cheaper than places like DiscountTire and definitely cheaper than TireRack. I like giving my business to the small business owner whenever I can, especially when the service is very good.

I hear ya - but you don't have to buy the tires from this guy for him to mount them.

I bought my tires elsewhere - got a good deal on a tire he couldn't get for me - and brought them to Dave for mounting / balancing.

I usually order tires off the interent unless I can find someone local to beat it. Last time round Firestone actually had the best deal. Looking to replace the crap Pirelli tires on the F150. A buddy of mine can sometimes do it, but I have to have him drag the wheel/tires (70lbs each) and the new tires (50lbs) in his truck all the way to Monroeville and back and there's no guarantee how many days it'll take him to sneak them in.

Good info here. I take it that Wal Mart is the one over in West Mifflin?

Jay at Domination Chassis usually charges 15/tire. He's on 88 in the old Team Nutz bldg.
