I know I shouldn't but I have been running my HP 292s cams for a year with the stock valve springs. With lots of trips to the track. I just dropped them in with the AFM cam retention tool.

I don't know if I'll ever go to the track. I just like to have somethig fairly fast to play around with on the weekends. I would like to get it dyno-tuned just to see what we can get out of it. I had it dyno'd with everything I listed EXCEPT the pulleys and it put down 239hp/274tq. This was down at Hybrid's before they took the dyno and closed up !!! I'm not real impressed with those numbers. I don't think Modular Depot's canned 93 tune is real aggessive.

damn 239hp/274tq seems little low even though the cars are rated at 260hp at the wheels and like what 15-20 percent is lost through the drive train making it down to 220 or so... hmm never had mine out on the dyno, never really interest me to see wat numbers i'm putting down though... yeah i just play around wit mine, go up to the track on tnt nights then take it out to car shows thats really wat i'm into... other then that i want to eventually cam and procharge my car and get a good tune done, and leave it be...

If they're 220 at the wheels stock, I probably picked up 10hp on the intake side and 10hp on the exhaust side and none on the tune, IMHO.

I'm hoping for 10-15hp for the headers, 10-15hp for the cams and 10hp on the dyno-tune. That should put me at 280RWHP.

    that's about the same as a bone-stock auto/LS1 that's a little bit hurt. yay !!!

yeah doing the cams put a set of long tubes, o/r x pipe, nice cat back system like mac or flowmaster or like you said there are flowmaster weld in 2 chambers or just keeping that... and that should free up a lot of ponies, i kno it did for me wen i put long tubes and o/r x pipe on mine... tune should work all the bugs out in the computer and should be putting sum nice numbers down on the dyno, you could probably get a ls1 on the street now, i kno im right wit my buddie that has a auto t/a ls1 and he got long tubes, o/r y and borla cat back along with the slp c.a.i and tuned from pcm 4-less and hes also running the same times on the quarter mile as i am in the low 13s...

the ole O1 will have the exact bits and pieces as this car except I don't know what cam he "found". he does mention at the end of the article that you could put a blower on top of this only replacing the factory pulleys so I'm guessing it's some type of stage "1" cam. 280-300RWHP looks do-able according to this set up with a proper tune.

I just looked at the pics again and he's using a "catted" mid-pipe with those longtubes. Mine will be o/r...
