    welding gas

    I'm just getting my welder up and going, what is the going rate for a tank and gas for a mig welder ?

    i was going to get a 3 ft tall tank and use a argon mix

    Troy, my MIG bottle is 80 cubic feet & I think it's around $30-35 to fill it. I use GTS gas on old 220 outside of Greenwood. When I first set up my welder, I think it was $130 or so to buy the first bottle vs. the whole lease thing.

    Don't waste your money leasing Troy. I figured out a few weeks ago that my company has blown over $15,000 in leasing tanks for the last 10 years. Buy it once and be done. You get a current inspected tank with each exchange.

    the first place i checked wanted 250 for a 3' bottle, i thought that was alot

    I think Dale Oxygen wanted much less than that when I priced out a tank to replace the one I had stolen. Can't remember the $$ but it was NOT 250.
