And yes I've been seeing a lot of rut activity. This deer was chasing when I seen him. I stopped him with a call.

That's a nice deer man. Where do you take it to for processing? Depending on where you go, I could get you a good deal and good product.

Thank you. I took it to Kips in Carnegie. I just told them I wanted the antlers so they cut the cap off for me.

Nice deer for sure. I haven't seen much run activity here in 2c. I did have two small buck run tight to me from a rattle bag and a little grunting. Tomorrow should be good because if the lower temperature. Should kick in the love making lol. I use NAP killzone broadhead with my crossbow. Similar to yours. They cut a 2" hole. They fly like a field tip. I hit the same hole at 30 yards with them. I'll tell you how they cut when I get a chance to see a legal deer to shoot lol.

Hopefully you have some better luck soon. I was going to pick up a set of those heads. Looking forward to seeing a picture of the damage.

I just mounted up the antlers to a plastic European mount kit I had. Turned out good, I used this kit on the deer from last year's as well.

I'm good friends with kip. My lady works there in the evenings and weekends during hunting season too.

    nice buck 1320....!!!!!!!!!

How does that plastic European mount work? Predrilled spots for the antlers to fit in or can you use a piece of the (real) skull with the antlers to mount it and then fit it to the plastic skull?

You run a drill bit up thru the base of each antler and attach them to the skull plate from the kit using screws. Then attach the skull plate to the skull from the mount kit.

Thank you... And yes, they sell kits where you can keep the skull cap intact if you want to maintain the B&C score. This particular one you cut the antlers flush.

This morning at a little after 7am. Nice to have one hanging but now I'm done for the week. That stinks.

    Nice looking deer!
The first time my son saw a deer head mounted at my father-in-law's house he said "where are their butts!?".

I have always preferred the Brazilian trim vs. the European ( bushy ) look.
