I haven't been seeing many decent bucks on the farm this season. This 10 point buck came out of nowhere Saturday, he didn't appear to be in the rut yet.

Thanks guys! Since breaking my collarbone for the second time, I switched to a crossbow. I was using a Barnett predator at around 25 yards. Complete pass thru

Picked up a couple mounts from the taxidermist today. The deer on the left is the one from a few posts up.

Not deer related, but didn't want to start a new thread. After losing a number of animals on the farm due to coyote, here is the remedy. Rock River Arms AR15, ATN Mars Gen 4 night vision scope. This thing is going to be lethal.

How do you know it is a coyote issue - have you seen it first hand or on trail cam or?

I bought an electronic caller last yr...used it a couple times without success but my place is loaded with coyote and the bobcat are there too.

Yes I see them and I hear them howling every night. I know there is an owl killing some of our smaller birds. We have set bait traps and caught a couple coyote in the past. They're getting more brave and it's time to eradicate. I have a FoxPro caller as well

    They are elusive animals.

I am just not so sure they kill as many deer as ppl think.

I spend alot of time in the woods in the fall and winter and have never once come across a carcus that I thought was taken down by, or nibbled on by, a predator.

I hear coyotes at my house about once/week...sometimes even during the day. I am hoping to get more time this yr with the Foxpro.

I wasn't referring to them killing deer. They do kill calves and our peacocks.

I'm hoping to meet this guy in the woods in a couple weeks with the crossbow. We had a smaller 5 point visiting too. The 5 has a few nice sized deer warts.

You know what's great? When you're waiting for that deer you've been seeing on the trail cam, then a monster you've never seen before comes strollin in...yep I'm ready for the season to start.

Anyone have any luck so far? I've been seeing this nice 12 on my trail cameras. He is being very nocturnal.
