Here is a testiment to these little engines ...
The short block in my car came from a core pile at a rebuilder. Was in good shape, but unknown history. Put a few fresh gaskets / seals on it, flushed the oil , then threw it in my car 2 1/2 seasons ago when I shortened a set of rods. This bone stock short block has made several hundred passes all leaving off a clutch drop on the limiter, thousands of street miles because I drive the car all the time, went through me learning to tune Megasquirt, spraying nitrous, and in general god awe full abuse .... Pulled the head off today getting ready to install my built bullet and you can still see the factory hatch in the cylinders ...
Don't however ask about crank thrust, seems to be lots of that;)
Motor less Monday ... Front suspension and k member come out next ...
I'm starting to see the end of "coming apart" and looking forward to "going together" :)
New ET goals for this year Bob?

Lol ... 12.000?
I still plan to run True Street at 12.00. The car should be able to run 11.50 pretty well on boost (might try some 11.50 index stuff), then with a small shot got for a 10.999. I think all three are doable and should be substantially more durable with the new clutch combo.

Between work, weather, and a bit of a mess with my cylinder head, I'm ready to start turning this pile of parts into a car ...
man that engine looks clean!
When are you installing the vent shades??
Seriously - nice progress!

I can drop it back off Mike. I would say rather than "the one that got away" we might call it the one that won't go away :) Beside maintenance, this is the last upgrades to this car.
Yeah, but I mean it this time ... I made the decision to do one more go this winter so I can race this car this season ... I am looking for a chassis to start building a class legal race car and move this back to driver / toy status. I really want a Coyote Stock legal car.
Officially done with coming apart and on with going together ...
Dropped the new short block in today ...
Got the tranny in, everything mounted underneath ... Head on, turbo on, etc, etc ...
Got a bunch of little stuff to mess around with tomorrow, but it's coming together :D
Next big project is exhaust.
The hot dog in the hallway makes sense now.:D
