    Lightbulb Steel City Stangs Stickers

Contacted the company that originally made the SCS stickers for Lou back in 2005. They were able to dig up the old art work and details. Attached is a jpeg of the original which I really liked to be honest with everyone, it's a chrome based peal away sticker with black digital print. I asked them to supply me with a generic jpeg of both left and right so those who wish to put them on both quarter windows or sides of the car can pick a uniform direction.

Go with the past design or make some changes? If changes are preferred, suggestions please!

    Thanks

    Mike

My opinion is that something with some color is needed. The old ones seem to get lost on a tinted window.

To me ( and this is my opinion) the horse looks tacky. Don't get me wrong I like it but that is my suggestion. I like plain and simple. Just my 2 cents.

I believe the original sticker looks to be very outdated and personally, the chrome stickers never seem to hold up as well as the vinyl ones. I like plain and simple, but at the same time something different. Maybe something that relates to both the city of pittsburgh and mustangs, after all the site is called steel city..stangs.

Maybe something like this Mike? A little something fresh, different, and tied the city's colors into it, yet not overbearing at the same time. Could always add in an image, running horse, steel beam, etc. Many options.

Cody's design is nice. I especially like the black & gold & white colors.

It could be tweaked though - into the shape of a triangle...( ya know...the whole point / 3-rivers thing... )

    SteelCity
    Stangs
    .com

(ok - I had the 2nd and 3rd lines spaced to make the whole thing look like a triangle...but when I save it didn't keep the spaces )

I'm sure someone ( or everyone! ) could do better than that. Just a thought...

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

You could do the triangle but then the sticker would provide more difficult placement for on a window, especially a windshield banner or similar. See below:

In my opinion, if you are going to try and build a "brand image" for this website, you should use the same font and design as is used in/on the image that is at the top of the forum page. No value in making a different design for stickers, folks might not connect the sticker with the website if they look completely different. Using the mustang is up to you - again, it's part of the "brand image" of the website. Sorry for repeating some marketing lingo crap, but I could not think of a better way to state it.

The picture I am talking about is attached to this post.

I do agree that the chrome stickers have an 80's feel to them (they should look right at home on Fox's lol), so maybe they can be a die-cut vinyl instead.

The orginal one without the horse and with some color would look good IMO.

What is the size of the original stickers? Are the ones in the first post actual size? I would like to see something smaller/more subtle. I have no problem with seeing larger ones on other people's cars, I just don't think a big sticker would look as good on some other applications. Just my two cents.

I hear ya. I was thinking it would fit nicely in the acute corner of fox quarter windows, but that is just a small piece of the Mustang population.

To hard to read and looks too much like graffiti.

Keep the current one, loose the horse and make it vinyl/color.

I agree, if the horse stays it needs new life for sure. Simple is never bad which is why I'm not trying to get into anything crazy, just want to get stickers back out to everyone.

I like vinyl cut stickers but the problem with them is the details always get peeled up. The original chrome stickers actually held up pretty well as far as I know. They were very popular and stayed on the glass. Regardless, the sticker has to direct people to the sight so it has to be a .com sticker.

You make very good points and thats why I'm starting with the original sticker and just going to have to wing it from there. I really like the version that is in the banner on here too, that is a perfect example of how we could add life to the sticker without a complete overhaul...

I am waiting for a proof of just that because it's simple and they really do look good and they would be too big either.

1.729 X 10.199. Thats why I am going to check out a proof without the mustangs. Makes for a quick .com sticker that will stand out but not bee huge in size.

I'm not a sticker guy in most cases ... the ones on my car are mostly there because they have to be there. that said ...

No idea how to even make a rough mock up, but how about the "Steelers" logo (circle with the three diamonds ... with the "Steel City Stangs.com running off it ... basically where it says "steelers" would be "Steel" with the "city stangs.com" on a narrow strip like the current design. In other words, the logo would replace the horse :D

Random idea to tie into the regional nature of this site.
