    Launch rpm varied from 5,200-6,200 rpm. Shift points check in at 6,200 rpm.

    Yes. It's the original shortblock circa 1993. Original bearings, rings, pistons, rods, and crank assembled by Ford in '93. Pistons were not notched which limited cam selection. At one time I had contemplated a custom cam to take complete advantage of lift/duration. The custom cam would probably be the demise of the shortblock (read: too many rpm's) so I elected to retain the off the shelf example and work around that limitation. Even though only a couple hundreths were lost from the previous outing to this outing, it provides motivation to think outside the box so to say and look for small gains in areas that are often overlooked in lieu of more substantial mods/gains.
