2013 Test N Tune Schedule Release

NEW ALEXANDRIA PA -
Pittsburgh Raceway Park is pleased to announce the test and tune schedule for the 2013 drag racing season. The season will open with a test and tune on Saturday, April 6th, which will also feature an auto parts swap meet. April will have test and tunes every Saturday, and the season will finish with test and tunes in October and as late into November as the weather allows. In between, the Thursday test and tunes will start on May 7th, and run through September 26th. PRP management is striving to continually improve the program for all customers, and in response to demand, there will be a street car only test and tune/grudge racing on the first Tuesday of the month, from May to September. On those Tuesdays, only street legal cars, that are driven in through the gates (no trailers will be allowed through the gates), will be racing. Racers will be able to grudge run against their friends or family (even foes!) in separate lanes from the test and tune cars. There will also be a Sunday test and tune on May 19th, and more Sunday test and tunes may be added if this day is successful. Below is the full test and tune schedule for 2013:

Gate announcement:
With the exception of special events, the direct entrance from Route 22 will not be used. Both entrances from Stone Jug Road will be used for all race days.

May 7th (Tuesday, street cars only, must be driven in), 9th (Thursday plus gamblers race), 16th, 19th (Sunday), 23rd, 30th
June 4th (Tuesday, street cars only, must be driven in), 6th (Thursday plus gamblers race), 13th, 20th, 27th
July 2nd (Tuesday, street cars only, must be driven in), 11th (Thursday plus gamblers race), 18th, 25th
August 1st, 6th (Tuesday, street cars only, must be driven in), 8th (Thursday plus gamblers race), 15th, 22nd, 29th
September 3rd (Tuesday, street cars only, must be driven in), 5th (Thursday plus gamblers race), 12th, 26th
October 19th, 26th
November 2nd, 9th, 16th
(For April, October, and November test and tunes on Saturdays: if Saturday is a rain out, all efforts will be made to have test and tune on that Sunday)

+1, I have never gone there and got more than three runs because of how long those "other" cars take, and how often they break.

Just to quash a few rumors I've heard floating around:
This is full 1/4 mile runs, with timeslips.
There will also be a band playing in the pavillion.

Good news - RESCHEDULED FOR NEXT TUESDAY!

May 7 - Tonight's 1st street car only test and tune has been postponed due to the rain. We would never be able to get the track dry in time to give our customers full value for their entry fee. We here at PRP truly believe this can be a very fun night, so we are rescheduling for next Tuesday night, May 14! All the rules from tonight will apply - street cars and bikes only, must be driven through the gates (once in, changing to slicks and dropping the exhaust allowed), and there will be grudge lanes! Thank you for bearing with us, and let's hope Mother Nature is kinder next week.
