Someone has to have one of these! They really were not that bad a car. 302s ran pretty good for the anemic 70s!!
I have seen some nice ones (as long as they dont have that giant COBRA decal on it)!

Silvernotch probably knows, he keeps talking about buying one in a few years.
I used to live in Stockdale, there was a red one parked outside of a shop. That was two or three years ago. Real clean but never really saw it move.

That's the reason for my screen name here! My second car was a '78 Mustang Cobra II... yep, it had the big ugly stickers. Worse yet, it was a V6. I enjoyed the car though. It did handle well.
He's not real active on here, but Mark Brewer is cobra_II or something like that. He has a '78 King Cobra Mustang II, that is all black, really nice car. He runs in Modified at PRP.
Several of us on here own Pinto's in some form ...
MII's are bascially fancy Pinto's ;) That should get both the Pinto and MII guys fired up ;)
That's awsome!

My first car was a 75 Mustang II, started life as a 4 cyl, and about 4 years in ended up with a 68 302 and a C4, never a 'rocket ship' but performed OK and sounded great. Wedging the headers into that car was an absolute nightmare, I remember spending countless hours working on that beast, and scouring salvage yards in the late 80's early 90's to find parts.
I sold it about 10 years ago (still kick myself in the ass), it may still be on the road somewhere. Thought about getting another, but never did, I would buy that one back though, in a heartbeat! It was a 'family' car - went from my uncle (original owner) to my cousin to my mom, then me. I still find paperwork for laying around my garage.

It would be cool to stuff an SVO turbo 2.3 into a Cobra II.
That would have been the ticket (if the technology existed back then).
It could have transformed the II into a desirable classic!
i bought a 79 pace car as a project needed new floor pans and a few other things im putting a 351w in it 4spd manual i cant wait to get it done hope its a good car
Nice Mustang II. Years ago when I just got my 86 GT, there was a 1978 Mach 1 for sale. It had a 302 and T tops. I came close to buying it for $1500, It was a clean car when I lived in FLA!!!
I had a another friend of mine who had a truck model (notch back?) that he threw a warmed up 302 in. Yes I would enjoy driving it.
I seem to like the odd body type vehicles (Fairmont, LTD IIs, Thunderbirds, Capris etc)
