    Any fast street cars here?

Been a while since I've been on. Any fast "street cars" on this site? Since PRP is going to have a street car night, I wouldnt mind getting some races lined up.

And I guess I better post this before Speedracer comes in here with his turns turns turns BS......my offer still stands for Beaver run this year.

Hey David! How is the Supercharged Z06 doing? Any ET's with that one yet? Is it faster than the old one..?

Hey Mark. I only have 3 passes on the new car. While it is faster than the H/C car, the ET was slower. It went 10.2 but trap was at 140 so its got more potential once I get some seat time. I put a RPS BC2 in the car and I cant figure out how to slip it. Best 60' was 1.69

Whats new with your car? You get those heads worked yet?

That's cool. Should be a 9 second car.

Not sure if I am going to do anything. I don't fall for the whole epidemic thing. I'm using good oil and I don't know if I'm planning to even keep the car. Only 6k miles so far. It can be someone else's problem if I sell it. LOL

Wow didnt realize you had such low miles. I am 2 for 2 with extremely bad guide wear in both my Z06's. The first one didnt get measured but I could wiggle them by hand. The heads off my current car with 10K miles had every exhaust guide out of spec.....one was all the way to .009!

Not sure if you have been on the forum lately but things have changed quite a bit in the past couple months. GM has awknowleged the issue (not saying its in the early cars though) and a ton of people have been sending thier heads off. It is actually more rare to see a set in spec. I spent alot of time calling the top shops around the country because I was tired of the banter on the forum that went nowhere. I was on the fence because my new car didnt burn oil like the last and there was no smoke on startup. I thought maybe I was just unlucky with the old car. Well after talking to all the big shops.....I decided to send them off. Glad I did but maybe I am just super unlucky with Z06's.

I had WCCH work my heads. I went with SS exhaust valves, micropolished the intake valves, bronze guides, stage 2 port, ect......it cost me $1650. I thought that was pretty reasonable.

If I decide to keep the car I might get them done. Only then though. It makes you wonder how some have 10k miles and problems and others with 140k and no problems whatsoever. Who knows..

I am looking for another toy but have not decided on anything right now. If I keep my car I will do the heads and put on a blower. I'm leaning towards that if I have to choose a direction today LOL.

    See you soon!

Yea who knows why some go with hardly any miles and some go 140k. But I dont think Jim ever got his heads checked out. He might have the issue but has just been fortunate for it not to get bad enough not to drop a valve. Or maybe his are still perfect. Def a wierd problem that is not consistant. Funny how all the big shops cant agree on the cause of the issue. I tried to hit all the theories I heard (guides machined wrong, heat through the sodium filled guides, geometry issue) and who knows I may not have fixed the issue that caused it in my car.

Anyways, while I miss the N/A car, the supercharged one is a beast with better drivability. I have stock mufflers on it still and it sounds like a stock Z06 till the valves open. If you keep yours and decide to go blower, you can take mine for a spin to see if she tickles your fancy. It puts it at a pretty good power level for a street car. Of couse it could use a little more for track use but to much more power on the street and it would be hard to control. Just be prepared to run DR's all the time. When the car was only making 555rwhp, I was breaking street tires loose at 85mph. Now it made 625rwhp and is on NT05R's that hold really well.

Caging an 11 second car is almost as bad as the time you wore capri's to the track. "But D-Rod, I only wore them for weight reduction. Besides my firesuit covers my legs." Likely story Scott but Im not buying it. I think I still have a pic of you that day at the track.......http://i.stpost.com/ojai-fast-dry-ca..._03~1500.1.jpg

To answer the title of the thread... No. Mostly just show cars around here. We just wash and wax our cars and take them to car shows and listen to oldies.

    03 Cobra=slow show car...
