    Bumpsteer Kits

    I'm looking to purchase a bumpsteer kit for my Fox after installing a AJE K-member. My question is, which style is the better kit, the tapered end that doesn't require drilling the spindle or the style that does require drilling the spindle? The car is 95% street use at this point. What are the pros & cons of each style?

    The Steeda kit was the best quality out of all the ones I've seen... I'll go 1/2 on a bumpsteer gauge if you want.

    Greg, that's a good offer on the bumpsteer gauge, however I think I'm going to do a little trial & error until I get as much bumpsteer out of my car as I can for the time being. The way it is right now, I think it would be a real pain to drive & would scrub my tires real quick. If I can swing lowering springs & c/c plates this year I may take you up on the going half offer though.

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ln...0/media/images I need to do my rear... I have the offset rack bushings on mine, you might want to try that first since they are only about $20

    If I put the offset bushings in my rack, it will hit my oil pan. I didn't know anything about AJE moving the rack position down until my steering shaft was about a 1/2-3/4" too short.

    It looks like it should've been in there stock. Well, except the fuel line feeding the rails but that might change if I can find the right factory hose

    I'll second this. For a track car (road course/autocross/etc.) I wouldn't run a tapered kit, but for a drag/street car I wouldn't have an issue with it. The reason for drilling the spindle is the added strength of being able to use the same size bolt all the way through (some of the spacer stacks can get thick), and the tapered exist because you don't have to drill the spindle (a 5 minute job).

    So the Steeda kit wouldn't be ideal for a autocross/road set up?

    I ran it for years without any problems, then I drilled the spindle later and used the same kit, just replaced the tapered part with the same thickness bolt. The bumpsteer kit is one of two things Steeda sells that would go anywhere near my car, surprisingly it is a quality piece.
