    You give to charity?

Just curious if anyone gives to charity? Every year i usually double my tax return and give it to a differet charity every year. Its not much but its a little bit of something. I gave to breast cancer awareness three yrs ago, wounded soldiers 2 yrs ago and childrens hospital last year. Im trying to figure where to send it this year. Anyone know of any good charities?

I just give to the local goodwill. If I doubled my tax return, id could buy a new car to give away every year.

I donate tons of stuff ( clothes that don't fit us anymore, pretty much anything we don't need anymore but is still in nice shape ) to St Vincent DePaul every year. They re-sell the goods at their thrift store & proceeds go to their charity. It is local and very convenient. Local folks who need inexpensive household items also benefit from it. And it benefits me in that I write off the donations on my tax return.

I agree, after I donate to all of these charities, I don't have much left! I'm still trying to figure out how some people also get a income tax refund that is way, way more than they paid in.

I wish we were able to say what our taxes would go to! For example still pay taxes and say you want 50% going to schools and 50% going to infrastructure upgrades. Instead of people spending your tax dollars on worthless crap like obama phones.

It is a joke. A cellular device is a privledge, its not a requirement or a necessity. People who are receiving food stamps, government welfare/state welfare should not be entitled to having a smart phone. Any deactivated cell phone will dial 9-1-1 for emergencies, whether it is activated or not. So the ploy "I need it in case of an emergency" is bs. If your able to smoke a pack of day and pay for a smart phone, then you should be able to start paying for some of your own groceries. Don't get me wrong, sometimes people need help, but the system is overly abused.

I agree with you for the most part on this.

Ahh yeah, it's definitely a good one! Anything involving Children is a good cause. St Judes I typically would give to, but I actually didn't this year, first year in awhile that I haven't I believe! I'll just make up for it this upcoming year.
