    Fairness and sharing in relationships

Since I ordered my '14 GT last month - my first brand new car ever - I have been thinking that I should also get my wife something nice. She drives our 2001 Eddie Bauer Explorer with 125k miles on it. She never complains about having one of the oldest cars in the parking lot at work. I guess I'm pretty lucky that way.

Anyway I came across a deal on a real cream puff today. It is almost an exact match to the Sterling Gray Metallic I ordered for my GT. I can't wait to show it to her when she gets home from grocery shopping in an hour or so.

Ok - I know the suspense is killing all of you by now. Many of you know I hang onto my money pretty tight, so this is really out of character for me.

Here she is, in all her gleaming glory!!

Very nice! I recently bought a front loader washer and dryer, they're awesome. Keep us updated on the reaction.

I can't see any reason for her to be mad, you bought a toy, she gets house tools...did they ever fix the funky smell the front loaders develop?

So far so good folks. After 9.5 years our old front loader was toast due to a failing rear bearing which caused excessive wobble during spin, leading to outer drum damage. Cheaper to buy a new one than to fix the old.

I think the reason for odor in some front loaders is due to people not leaving the door ajar for air circulation ( when you're not running it of course ).

Those new H.E washer and dryers are awesome. We have had ours for a little over a year. They really save on water and are more gentle on the clothes. Haven't had any problems with smells yet. Make sure you use H.E. laungry detergent Ron.

Thanks Kev - I hear ya on the HE detergent. Our old washer was a front loader also. We do so many loads of laundry it's a no-brainer for us to have a front loader. Only thing is - I wish more of my laundry was dirty clothes from working in the garage. I haven't turned a wrench on the '66 in a really long time.

I highly recommend the Sears Outlet for appliances. I saved $360 because of some fine scratches on the top and a tiny little dent ( maybe 1/4" ) on one side. I went to the store on Washington Pike in Bridgeville - just off the Kirwin Heights / Heidelberg exit of 79 South.

Our last front loader was fine, but I bought the mrs a bigger and badder front loader a year or two ago and this one has a funky ass smell. Not sure what to do about it. She wants the old one back
