    chinese aftermarket wheels???

i never really thought about this (i was never a big fan anyways), but after debating about getting my stock wheels widened and using spacers i see that all of the aftermarket wheels from American Muscle and other companies that sell these knockoffs are made in China. I planned on staying away from the knockoffs anyways, but now will never buy them...i know that there are a lot of parts made in other countries that come stock, but buying something "aftermarket" from China??? no way.

there are a ton of people that run replica wheels without any issues...
90% of what you buy today is made in china, so idk what to tell you.

I would say that aftermarket parts from China are fairly common.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I had knock off wheels twice before. No idea where they were made, but they passed TUV so I wasn't worried about it. The set on the Volkswagen were fantastic. The set on the Jaguar were not. Pretty sure I bought my mustang with Chinese bullets on it (american muscle?) and swapped them out for 3 piece true forged wheels. Never had any real issues other than the jaguar set, since they needed a lot of weight to balance and some of the adhesive remover spray took off a bit of the paint finish.

i cant believe that those wheels are anywhere close to the quality of companies that produce aftermarket wheels. i get it, they are cheap, come in tons of sizes and look pretty good, but i just couldnt do it. i think chinese girls are gorgeous...but the stuff they manufacture isnt quite up to par.

and i am not trying to insult anyone, i guess this is just me being patriotic? everyone has their own opinion, that is the great thing about this country (for now)

The wheels I bought from Stage3Performance which are mfd by OEWheels, LLC are extremely nice. I bought Chrome Bullitts. I just pulled them all out of the boxes, looked em over really close. They are made of pretty high quality from the looks. From my understand OEWheels, requires a specific specification and they go over each wheel when they get them to make sure its up to spec. If its not what it should be they send them back? Thats what I read on another forum atleast. Most stuff is made in China. We don't make much here anymore, and when we do, its junk too half the time because some 20 yr old kid is "working" who's pissed off about the job he has and is not sitting at home playing video games being a waste of space..

If you want quality wheels you will pay the price. Buy some true forge or ccw wheels for $600 a piece then. Lol

But for most people the Chinese made rep wheels are just fine.

I would be shocked if most OEM wheels are made in the USA. It's a simple fact now that parts are not made in the US. Americans might design and produce prototypes, but if they want to actually make a profit they outsource. I'd MUCH rather buy everything US-made, but it's not practical anymore.
FWIW off the top of my head the parts I have that are non-American made: wheels, intake manifold, injectors, spark plugs, headlight housings, tires, BOV, silicone couplers etc. I'm also fairly certain the engine itself was made in Mexico.
The only part that I will absolutely not buy from China is a turbo.

That turbo from China will give you great gains for about 2 miles until it blows up LOL! Most of my stuff came from china as well!

few years ago i bought a set of bullitts from american muscle. took to have mounted and 1 kept goin flat. turns out the rim was so thin in one spot it was leaking through tiny pin holes in the rim. i called them, they sent a new one, problem solved. but dam kinda makes a guy wonder you know. tons of them out there though. ford made lots of nice wheels just not in 10 inch. i like to roll on factory rims when possible

No doubt! There are very minimal companies here that make good rims. I bought mine through Stage3Motorsports, which they always take really good care of me. Great customer service, I actually prefer them over AmericanMuscle to be honest.

Quality Chinese manufactures can be found. If companies look for them. Granted certain things I would still be weary of. My Racestar wheels are made in China. I did not know that when I bought them and probably would not have if I knew before hand. I do like the wheels.

    Live and learn I suppose.
