I built this gun several years ago. It's a Savage 110 action with a 29" stainless steel bull barrel. I used a 110 action so the gun could be rechambered to a large .308" cartridge and still fit in the action. Due to the diameter and taper, the barrel has been threaded and installed without the use of the barrel nut....like a Remington. The stock is a one off piece that has been built to perfectly ride on bags or be shot from a bipod. The cheek piece has also been raised to allow a perfect cheek weld for the high rings needed for the scope to clear the barrel. The front of the cheek piece was also built so the bolt could be removed w/o issues. I've added about 2# of lead to the butt stock for the gun to balance better and slide in the sandbags w/o bouncing. The overall weight is around 17# and is a dream to shoot. A palm swell was also built into the stock. Also installed a oversize bolt handle. The gun has also been glass bedded.
The only thing I did not do was spend much time working on the trigger. It's fair.
The gun now has a Brunton 6-24X50mm scope.
Right now the stock is flat black and the action has been cold blued and polished. My buddy named it Ms. Frankenstein as a joke. I only ran one load through the gun...a 168gr Starke FB w/ 44gr Varget, CCI200 and LC Match brass. A typical 100yd target pic is posted below. The second target is from 200yds. Both targets are five shot groups.
Price is $600 as is. Open to trades.
