Whats the bottom end good to?

The manuals have a steel crank but the autos don't. Manuals blow apart anywhere from 475-530 depending on your setup.
Autos are even less...probably around >450.

I know the difference in 5spds are 8 bolt forged and auto 6bolt cast..
Got a trade offer of a stock sy auto mach 1 last night for my car so i wanted to know but it seems they are the ssme

I would say the cranks not the problem.......more of a piston and rod issue in both auto and manual

The stock crank in the auto is cast and the 5 speed is a forged unit but that is not the problem. The cast crank is plenty tough. The stock pistons and rods are the weak points. I would not push an auto car past 400-450 at the tires.
