    Motorcycle Shops

Hey guys. I have an issue with my R1 and I need to take it to a decent shop that can fix it at an affordable price. Anyone know of any good bike shops that can fix my bike (issue with valves).

Here's a link with more details and a video of what's wrong with the bike.

Like I said on R1 forums, check that cct....

But as for a shop, I've spoke to and liked Bentley's Yamaha on 22. I know they have done extensive repairs on customer's bikes before and they seem pretty competent.

You could try Feltes Custom Motorcycles in Jeanette. They have a chassis dyno and are also a authorized dyno jet tuning center. I know the owner George and he is top notch!

Does Dan still work on bikes? (inkedcountryboy on here) He was always reasonable price wise, and seemed to know what he was doing.

Good luck Nate - i couldn't see any of the vids or pics on the R1 thread, but i think you're going down the right path trying to figure it out on your own.... I've never found motorcycle engines to be all that hard to work on, so you should be able to atleast get some insight... if you find its a big deal, then you take it to someone else...

Called them, if I can't fix it myself I might take it to him. It's an hour drive for me but he seemed like he knew what he was talking about.

To check the tensioner do I just take those two bolts out and pull it out? I've never messed with one before, how will I know if it's bad or not?

Called him and he said he didn't want to do it because they didn't have a mechanic qualified enough to mess with valves.

Yeah I'm hoping it's something easy like the cam chain tensioner and not bad valves. I have a feeling I'm gonna end up having to take it somewhere though. I don't want to mess anything up by trying to do valves by myself, that's a little too complicated for me.

INKDcountryboy.. Dan, he worked on ALL my bikes from my Harley to my dirtbikes to my cbr1000rr.. He is the only guy I would let touch my bikes besides me. And his prices blow everyone else out of the water.
